meet the team

Being a part of the team at the North Jersey Vineyard is far more than “just a job” … it’s a family.

PHIL CHORLIAN | LEAD PASTOR

Phil planted the North Jersey Vineyard in 1997 and serves as the Lead Pastor. Phil’s responsibilities include preaching and teaching, leadership development, and casting and communicating vision for the church. Phil also serves the wider Vineyard movement as a member of Vineyard USA’s national executive team and leads the “Healthy Church Development Team.” Through workshops, seminars, and coaching, this team seeks to help Vineyard churches move towards greater church health and community impact.

Phil and his wife Norma have been married since 1991 and have 4 children. Phil is an avid runner and is often training for his next marathon.

MARY ANNE DE LA TORRE | ASSOCIATE PASTOR | KIDS CHURCH

Mary Anne serves as our Children’s Pastor at the North Jersey Vineyard, having received her Bachelor’s degree from Grove City College in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Spanish. Mary Anne’s heart is always focused on the goal of children being able to encounter Jesus, know His love, and experience His presence for the rest of their lives. She facilitates this vision through recruiting and training volunteers, special events, meeting and praying with children and families, and most especially relying on the Lord. “I never thought I would get to do this for my job! It truly marries some of the great loves of my life: Jesus, connecting with others and community-building, and working with children.”

Mary Anne and her husband Rich have two kids, Marcus and Noemi. Spending time with her family is one of her favorite “likes,” as well as rainy days and books, coffee, playing basketball, and mushy cereal.

GRIMALDI MARTINEZ | ASSOCIATE PASTOR | WORSHIP

Grimaldi is the Worship Pastor at the North Jersey Vineyard, leading several worship teams for our weekend services. The aspect of ministry that he enjoys the most is training and releasing people to serve in the ways that they are gifted. “I love seeing them come from rudimentary musical skills and a basic understanding of worship to becoming effective worship leaders and musicians.”

Grimaldi and his wife Celine have 4 children — 2 boys and 2 girls. When Grimaldi has time to himself, he loves playing electric guitar, as well as boxing and working out as a boxer.

THOMAS MCKELLICK | ASSOCIATE PASTOR | TEENS & YOUNG ADULTS

Thomas, a Maine native, is the Youth and Young Adults Pastor at the North Jersey Vineyard, working with students from 6-12th grade and young adults between the ages of 18 and 25. After high school, he studied at Vineyard College of Mission in Boise, ID with areas of focus on video production and church planting. Thomas worked on staff for over seven years at Pathway Vineyard in Lewiston, ME and served as the director of Heroic Leadership Institute, a 9 month discipleship school for young adults in the Vineyard Movement. One of his greatest passions is seeing young people learn how deeply God values them and embracing the fullness that He offers along their journey.

Thomas and his wife Mary have a beautiful two year old daughter, Evangeline. She makes life so much fun!

During his own free time Thomas likes to go to the beach, play disc golf, root for the Bruins, but mostly spend time with his family.

SUE SEHULSTER | CREATIVE & COMMUNICATIONS | HOLY SPIRIT MINISTRIES

Sue wears a few hats at the North Jersey Vineyard, serving as the creative developer/graphic designer, communications director, as well as overseeing all of the Holy Spirit Ministry components including Prayer Ministry, Healing on the Streets (HOTS), and the School of Kingdom Ministry. Sue has a passion for the creative — whether it’s through writing, singing on the worship team, graphics, or training and equipping others to step into empowered Holy Spirit ministry.

Sue and her husband Don have two teens, Aidan and Grace, and a rescue dog named Penny. Sue loves the outdoors — working in her garden, hiking, and mountain biking — as well as cooking and hanging out with friends and family. With a double Bachelor’s degree in both History and English Literature from Eastern University, Sue enjoys immersing herself in those areas, especially traveling to places steeped in history, and is always looking forward to new adventures in her future.

JESSICA ARBOLEDA | FINANCIAL DIRECTOR | Spanish site pastor

With a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Liberty University, Jessica serves as our Financial Administrator and site pastor for our Spanish service, fully enjoying not only her roles in these positions, but also discovering her path and purpose in God.

While Jessica serves the North Jersey Vineyard in this professional capacity, she also loves being able to serve the community by guiding and assisting others in the organization of their own finances.

Jessica is married to Guillermo Reyes, and she enjoys spending her time watching movies and reading.

monica mantilla | ADMINISTRATIVE assistant

Monica Mantilla serves as our Administrative Assistant. Her role, however, does not end there! Monica is also involved in all aspects of making sure everything runs smoothly — organization, logistics, as well as facilitating the every day functions in the church.

Monica is originally from Colombia were she graduated and was employed as an Executive Assistant for a national organization. She is fluent in Spanish which is a big blessing to the North Jersey Vineyard Spanish community.

Monica's passion is to warmly welcome and assist all who enter the church doors. She is married to David Rodriguez and enjoys hiking, music, long road trips, the beach, and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

KELLY KIEL | KIDS CHURCH ASSISTANT

Kelly is an invaluable help to Mary Anne, our Kids Church Pastor, serving each week to make sure our Kids Church events, Sunday services, and everyday things are the best they can be. More than anything, Kelly loves seeing the kids worship and learn while having fun in Kids Church. “It is an amazing opportunity to be a  part of seeing first hand these children finding out and learning more about God.”

Kelly has a Bachelor’s degree in Admin and Marketing from Montclair State University and is currently in school to become an elementary school teacher. Kelly enjoys Yankee games, being outside, and immersing herself in a good book.
